Andy Price

Andy is an experienced work-related road risk management specialist with an extensive knowledge of, and a passion for, fleet safety.  Andy has worked in fleet safety for over 25 years, initially as a practitioner in the chemical industry, then for 14 years in the fleet insurance sector and latterly as an independent consultant.

Andy provides thought leadership on work-related road risk management, and is a recognised and highly regarded speaker, motivator, and facilitator.  He has spoken at numerous fleet, insurance, safety and telematics conferences, and facilitated workshops, all over the World.

Andy’s specific area of expertise is working with all sizes of organisations, from SMEs to multinational Corporate customers, helping them identify areas in their operational and management systems that increase the risk of crashes, and working with them to implement change to sustainably and continuously improve their collision and claim rates.

Andy works with the Global Road Safety Partnership, including facilitating the ‘Roads Between Us’ workshops in Ghana and Malaysia, as well as co-authoring the ‘Insuring Safer Roads’ report.  Andy also works with the European Transport Safety Council, contributing to their ‘PRAISE’ thematic reports. Andy was the consulting editor and primary contributor to Croner’s Managing Occupational Road Risk book.

Andy’s work-related road risk management approach whilst working at Zurich Insurance was recognised by a prestigious Prince Michael International Road Safety Award, as well as other fleet sector awards.  More importantly, many customers who Andy worked with won their own awards for their improvements in road safety performance.

Andy is now a judge for the Prince Michael International Road Safety awards and Brake’s Global Fleet Champions awards.  Andy is a member of the RTS/1 Road Traffic Safety Management committee, which has responsibility for the UK’s input into the ISO39001 Road Traffic Safety Management standard and is also a lecturer on the Eastern Alliance for Safe and Sustainable Transport’s (EASST) Academy course.
