Congratulations to our colleagues at CGGVeritas  who have found further success in the Fleet News Awards 2010 , winning Fleet of the Year - Sub-50 vehicles.

CGGVeritas has had driving policies and systems in place since 2003. In 2006, they identified a need to review and update their policies and procedures and decided on an independent review of their system, to ensure that risk was being reduced to a level that was as low as reasonably practicable, to cover their duty of care responsibilities.

Louise Claydon, Car Fleet Manager at CGGVeritas explains:

“We had worked with one of the founders of the Transafe Network previously to review our policies and procedures and make suggestions for change.  We found their expert knowledge and advice invaluable in making the improvements to our driving handbook and getting the support we needed to develop our systems internally.

The Transafe Network perform ongoing training sessions for our employees at all levels, to demonstrate the risks we encounter on the roads each day and what can be done to reduce that risk.  The presentations are always delivered effectively and with enthusiasm for the subject that gets passed on to our employees.  Some employees are sceptical prior to training, but positive feedback is always received after the course and employees regularly comment that the training was interesting and has made them think about their behaviour on the roads.

The Transafe Network have been like an extension of our own team and have made the education process of road safety very effective within our company.  We have seen marked improvements in driver attitude and incident statistics since we started working with them in 2006.”

In their first year of working with The Transafe Network, CGGVeritas were invited to become business champions in the UK Department for Transport’s Driving for Work Business Champions programme “Driving for Better Business”, acknowledged as a best practice case study at the “Fleet News - Hit for Six” and “Business Car 2007” conferences, Highly Commended in the Brake! Awards for Excellence 2007 (Company Driver Safety Award - Small Fleet) and were awarded the Fleet Safety Award 2007 by the Prince Michael International Road Safety Awards scheme.
